He was born in Trabzon in 1967 where he completed his primary and secondary education. He began his medical education in GATA in 1984 and graduated from Trabzon Karadeniz Technical University Faculty of Medicine in 1991. After his graduation, he worked as an emergency physician in Tokat and Izmir. He started his career as a neurology assistant at Tepecik Research Training Hospital in 2000 completing his specialist training in 2006. Afterwards he worked for a short time in Şırnak State Hospital and then for 6 years in Fethiye State Hospital as a neurology specialist.
